Stone Garden
Some people opt for a stone garden instead of a regular
garden. Stone gardens substitute different sizes of rocks for water
and foliage. Generally the stones are stacked or set up in a pattern.
Many stone gardens hat people get nowadays are modeled
after the Japanese gardens that feature a lot of rocks and gravel. One
of the favorite effects in a rock garden is to make ripples in the fine
gravel with a rake. This is supposed to simulate the ripples in a body
of water.
If you are just looking to create a beautiful scene with
rocks, this is easy to do with a little planning. If you want to create
a traditional stone garden like the Japanese have, you will need to
do quite a bit of planning. You may even want to get a book on the subject
or consult with a professional.
